    The Doucette Industries CADS Series Ammonia Desuperheater/Water Heater™ delivers cost-effective energy savings by heating potable water through the recovery of waste heat from industrial refrigeration systems. The CADS unit supplements potable hot water heating used for process applications by capturing "superheat" which accounts for approximately 10% to 15% of the total system heat of rejection. The CADS Series can effectively heat the water up to 140 ºF.

    The Doucette Industries CO2 Vaporizer™ marks a major advancement in refrigeration heat recovery technology by using waste heat energy from the refrigeration system to vaporize CO2 practically and simply. The heat exchanger operates like an auxiliary condenser, and is installed in the refrigeration compressor discharge line.

    Nominal SLHE selections should be based on system horsepower, which will provide a nominal 10ºF subcooling and a nominal 20ºF suction superheat for R-22, R-502, R-404A, R-507, R-407A, R-504, R-134A, R-407C and R-410A at 110ºF condensing and 25ºF suction. For example, for a 1-1/2 HP system, select an SLHE 1-1/2. Do not select undersized models to avoid high suction pressure drops and gas whistling.

    Selections based on suction and liquid line sizes are appropriate for standard low, medium and high temperature refrigeration systems provided the system HP rating closely matches the SLHE selection.

    The Hydronic Series is a liquid-to-liquid heat exchanger designed for highly efficient heat transfer covering a wide variety of liquid types. The heavy duty design makes it ideal for demanding commercial, industrial and residential applications where high performance and low maintenance are important.

    Heat transfer coefficients are greater than conventional shell and tube or plate exchangers because of the enhanced heat exchange surface and counter-flow design. Unlike plate heat exchangers, the Hydronic Series is not sensitive to debris clogging because of its large fluid circuits and is mechanically cleanable on the tube side circuit.
